Jacob M. Horowitz
Jay Horowitz works with the firm’s transactional department, focusing primarily on airport concessions. Jay services every stage of the business lifecycle of an airport concessionaire, from corporate set-up, to joint venture and related operational structuring and negotiation, ACDBE compliance, brand licensing, advising on proposal submissions, lease drafting and negotiation, addressing ongoing issues with partners, tenants and landlords, and, as applicable, M&A or final wind down. Jay’s clients span the spectrum of concept categories, including news and gifts, food and beverage, specialty retail, technology and apparel, and ranging in size from family owned start-ups opening their first store to national brands operating at over a hundred locations nationwide.
Among Jay’s areas of focus is DBE/ACDBE Regulatory compliance. In the joint venture sector, Jay has represented both ACDBE minority owners and non-ACDBE majority owners.
Jay served on the 2016 AMAC Professional Development Committee, assisting with the development of its Annual Business Diversity Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to concessions-related work, Jay’s transactional practice includes providing services to a diverse client base that includes a multi-state energy supply company, local medical practices and a commercial real estate brokerage, with a focus on corporate structuring and transactions, contract negotiation and employment related matters.
Jay lives with his family in Pikesville, Maryland, and he and his wife are actively involved in community work and their children’s schools.
